If you are not that knowledgeable about jewelries, don’t worry. Grab the opportunity to ask important questions when you consult with a jeweler.
- Is the jeweler reputable? – Make sure that you are in a reputable jewelry store. When you deal with them, you are assured that the gemstones are real and not synthetic or grown in a lab.
- Where’s the certificate? – Remember that when you are buying major gemstones like diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires, you have to ask to see the certificate for these gemstones. Don’t walk out of the store without this because this is your proof that you are buying a legitimate piece of jewelry.
- Has the stone been treated? – Some jewelers often do things like laser drillings to enhance the look of the jewelry. Make sure that you ask the jeweler for full disclosure regarding the condition of the jewelry you want to buy.
- Where is the stamp? – The stamp is what gives you an idea as to what metals your jewelry is made of. Look for it to see the composition of the jewelry.
